2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee

The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee is the 4th generation for this model. The 4th generation was initially unveiled in the 2009 New York Auto Show. This generation maintains the classic Jeep styling with a modern and sleek body style. Jeep had added several new features for the 2016 model year including a new shifter, and a new High-Altitude trim package. For the 2016, non-SRT trims also received updated steering, tires, and suspension. Thee entry V6 received an updated design, a light horsepower increase, an engine stop-start system as well as improved fuel economy.

This five passenger mid-size SUV comes with a five trim levels: Laredo, Limited, Overland, Summit, and SRT. Each trim is available with rear-wheel drive(2WD) or four-wheel drive(4wd) with the exception of the high-performance SRT model, which is solely available as a four-wheel drive.

The Laredo's standard equipment includes 17-inch allow wheels, automatic headlights, cruise control, fog lights, keyless ignition and entry, dual-zone climate control, a tilt-and-telescopic leather wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth for phone and audio, six-speaker sound system with a 5-inch touchscreen, USB port, and auxiliary audio jack. There is an optional 23 package adding roof rails, power drive seat with lumbar support and satellite radio. An available Security and Convenience group adds a power liftgate, cargo cover, remote engine start, a 115 volt power outlet, heated front seats, as well as a heated steering wheel. The 4WD Laredo can be equipped with an additional Off-Road Adventure group adding skid plates, tow hooks, a two-speed transfer case, "Selec-Terrain" drive modes, hill descent control, full size spare tire, and special all-terrain tires.

The Limited trim level is equipped with standard 18-inch wheels, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, as well as the 23E package and the Security and Convenience Group. Additionally, it comes with leather upholstery, and eight-way power passenger seat, heated rear seats, additional USB connectivity, a rearview camera and parking sensors. The Grand Cherokee's Overland model brings luxury trim to a whole new level. It equips the vehicle with 20-inch wheels, dual chrome exhaust tips, a towing package, power folding mirrors, body colored exterior trim, navigation, an upgrade gauge cluster, a wood rimmed steering wheel, extended leather upholstery, HD radio and the contents of the Luxury Group II package. For both the Limited and the Overland, the Advanced Technology Group includes adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a forward collision system with automatic braking.

New to the 2016 Grand Cherokee and only available with the Overland is the exclusive High Altitude package. It adds 20-inch black wheels, a sportier body kid, black accents on the exterior, aluminum brake and acceleration pedals, special leather, and the Advanced Technology Group.

The highest luxury trim level for the Grand Cherokee is the Summit. This trim is packed with additional features. Amongst them are polished 20-inch wheels, front parking sensors, illuminated door sills, noise reducing glass, and a phenomenal Harmon Kardon sound system.

The SRT model is the high-performance model offered by Jeep. It is equipped comparably to the Summit model without a few features such as the panoramic sunroof and Harmon Kardon audio system. It's added however an exclusive V8 engine, 20-inch wheels with performance tires, adaptive suspension system, performance steering, Brembo brakes, a limited-slip rear differential, selectable performance modes, a trim specific gauge cluster, leather and suede sport seats, and carbon fiber, interior accents.
